Toxicity

Toxicity (2001)

Band: System Of A Down
Album: Toxicity
Genre: Heavy Metal/ Alternative Metal

Toxicity, one of the best hits of S.O.D., being known for its dynamic chorus, aggressive vocals, and prominent drum beat. To Songfacts, there is lots of room for interpretation in the lyrics, as the toxins could refer to the city of Los Angeles and the Hollywood lifestyle, but could also be a commentary on the music industry, religion, corruption, drugs or any number of things that the band feels is poisoning people. The writing credit for the song is Malakian, Odadjian and Tankian, members of this great band. Enjoy it!

Psychosocial

All Hope Is Gone (2008)

Band: Slipknot
Album: All Hope Is Gone
Genre: Heavy Metal

This is another great and very interesting song made bu the American band Slipknot. It can be a bit extreme for those who are not inured to this type of music, but in the third or fourth time, you can not stop listening to it. It was written the deceased Paul Gray (bass) and vocalist Corey Taylor.
The percussionist Shawn Crahan told The Pulse of Radio what he could regarding "Psychosocial", saying, "One thing I can feel is like that song has got a lot of, I would say social anxiety. It's got a real good tempo. It's really fun and it's different. I think most of the stuff that we have is different." Well... Enjoy it!

Enter Sandman

Metallica (Black Album) (1991)

Band: Metallica
Album: Metallica (Black Album)
Genre: Heavy Metal

Just to introduce other legendary classic bands, I present you one of the best hits by the American heavy metal band, Metallica: "Enter Sandman". The music was written by Kirk Hammett (lead guitarist), James Hetfield (rhythm guitarist) and Lars Ulrich (drummer). Hetfield wrote the lyrics, which deal with the concept of a child's nightmares. Enter Sandman has also one of the most memorable riffs of all time. Enjoy it!

Highway To Hell

Highway To Hell (1979)

Band: AC/DC
Album: Highway To Hell
Genre: Hard Rock

After posting "Stairway to Heaven" I thought it would be interesting to post a song totally oposite to it: "Highway To Hell" by one of my favorite bands, AC/DC. It was in the last album featuring Bon Scott, the vocalist before Brian Johnson, who died six months after the realease of the album, from over-consumption of alcohol. The song was written by Bon Scott, Angus Young and Malcolm Young while the main guitar riff was created by Angus Young. The "Highway To Hell" album the album was ranked number 199 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Enjoy it!

Stairway To Heaven

Led Zeppelin IV (1971)

Band: Led Zeppelin
Album: Led Zeppelin IV
Genre: Folk Rock/ Hard Rock

Composed by the guitarist Jimmy Page and vocalist Robert Plant, members of the legendary group Led Zeppelin, is certainly the greatest song ever made and surely my first recommendation here in MyMartyr.
